A Treat for Cinnamon and her Cubs - UPDATE August 14, 2020

Cinnamon and cubsCinnamon and cubsA neighbor went in to Ely and picked some ripe chokecherries that Cinnamon and her cubs soon made disappear. Cinnamon got her share for a minute or two, but she saw how much the cubs wanted them, and she let them have them. When they were done, she led them into a grove of white pines for the main course. Her glance toward me gave the camera a look at her eye.

Also watching was a yearling resting on a branch.

The cubs and Cinnamon are doing fine. The amount of time she spends here shows how scarce favorite foods are in the woods. With baiting starting today, we want to keep them here safe as much as we can.
