Helping Cinnamon and Her Cubs - UPDATE August 13, 2020
Cinnamon's cub
Cinnamon's right eye
Cinnamon
We’re helping Cinnamon and her two cubs (one male and one female) for several reasons. There are few berries in the woods. She is further hampered in her feeding and making milk by having an injured, blind right eye that looks like the blind eye of One-eyed Jack. She is trying to feed two cubs that are about a third the size of the others we’ve seen. She is so hungry that she braves the presence of males who this small bear runs off. We are trying to keep this hungry bear out of trouble in this crisis year for bears in northeastern Minnesota due to the spring drought.
Thank you for all you do. Lynn Rogers, Biologist, Wildlife Research Institute
