Bears, Education, and Distinctive Shadow - UPDATE August 22, 2017

What a day!  Good memories, and then Shadow showing her white face better than ever.ShadowShadow

Spaced among the bears were video lectures that showed little cub Lily, yearling Hope, Lily grown up, Jewel, Juliet, and others teaching about black bear vocalization and body language.  These bears have given so much to the understanding of black bears.  And the video lectures led to so much discussion about black bears, what they’re like, how to read them, and how they live.  Mallard flyingMallard flyingThen we got into brainstorming how the Bear Center can expand its education to students.  That led to how thankful we are when we hear from Lily Fans that the Bear Center is in their wills.  Our focus with that is an endowment fund directed toward reaching out to educate students.  The discussion came full circle.

The day wound up with Shadow making an appearance in perfect light for showing her white face.

Thank you for all you do.
