Holly, Ted, Juliet, Lily Fans - UPDATE February 28, 2015
Juliet's cub comes out for air - Feb. 28, 2014Holly seems to love everything about her Den Cam. She spent a good half hour licking it, pawing it, and pushing it. The latter was the bad part. She pushed it farther up into the tube, making the only view now the inside of the tube unless Holly gives it more close-up attention. Lily Fans captured her antics in two parts that total about 15 minutes. http://youtu.be/g8B3D7wy3Po------7 and http://youtu.be/sJK5Myejj3o--------8
We don’t know when we can fix Holly’s Den Cam and if she will be content not to push it again, but we will check on it as soon as we can.
Ted put in an appearance licking snow from his spare bale of straw yesterday. He also chewed on something for a minute before dropping it.

The view on Holly's CamIn Juliet’s 8-minute highlight video, the family faces a cold day with colder ones coming. The overnight low was 28° below zero F, with a high of 2° below, heading back down to 20° below as darkness falls. Cold temperatures are less of a problem each day though, as the cubs grow their dense fine coats. Shortly after noon, Juliet used her latrine, but ate no snow this day. There is plenty of snow in the den for her to eat, but nothing like the 39 inches that had accumulated outside by this date in one of Minnesota’s coldest winters on record.

Welcome to over 400 new Lily Fans who have “liked” her page in the last four days, bringing the total to over 175,000. Thanks also to the BBC for the program “Lily: A Bear’s Life” they are airing here and there around the world, letting people see a side of bears that is so different from the fearsome image that is all too common in the media.
Thank you for all you do.
