Warmer Weather on the Way at Juliet's Den - UPDATE March 1, 2015

Juliet's Cub - March 1, 2014Juliet's Cub - March 1, 2014The 5-minute highlight video of Juliet from March 1, 2014, shows how the family lived as temperatures rose from the overnight low of 20° below zero F to 6° above zero and then dropped back below zero by the end of the day. They seemed to weather it all just fine although there was no rousing to eat snow and back out of the bed to the latrine.

We’ll see how behavior differs over the next 4 days (March 2-5) when overnight lows will be between 34° and 37° degrees below zero.  Then the weather warms up, which should mean more cub sightings. During March 7-11, daytime temperatures will be between 34° and 54° degrees above zero, and nighttime temperatures will be between 4° and 26° above zero.

I’m looking forward to seeing how the cubs behave as they open their eyes and become more active in the warmer weather.
