Ted Sleeping and Jumping - UPDATE December 13, 2017

Ted jerks and twitches as he falls asleep. That’s the most common time to see myoclonic twitches and hypnic jerks from sudden muscle contractions. 8 point buck8-point buckWith the great new zoom camera, I wish he would sleep with his face visible to see evidence of REM sleep. Before our Den Cams, I’d never seen REM sleep reported for hibernating bears. If he slept where we could see his face more, we could look for it and perhaps quantify it. A moderator caught this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P-KK2e_HqM.

Out the window, the broken antler deer was here shooing the other deer away from a date mash block, but he didn’t show up when a new 8-point buck with a perfectly symmetrical rack came for his share.

Thank you for all you do.
