Christmas Cheer, Highlight of the Day - UPDATE December 26, 2017

Christmas was a quiet day with Donna – catching up, working together, and making each other laugh.Broken AntlerBroken Antler

Today was catching up on work. The highlight of the day had to be my moment of surprise when the gray fox came up on the second floor deck, saw me 8 feet away brightly lighted in the window, and sat down to nibble at a block of date mash. He or she was wary in every direction except me in this minus 19°F cold. It warmed up from minus 28°F this morning.

Also out the window, I’ve never seen a hairy woodpecker with its feathers so puffed out for insulation as this female. Broken Antler calmly looks at the big eye of the camera in the window.

Tomorrow, more on bears.

Thank you for all you do.
