The Four Bears, the Pavilion, and Gulls - UPDATE May 29, 2017

Showing off his new rear foot pads, Ted also showed that he knows how to relax on a holiday weekend. Ted relaxingTed relaxingPeople showed the same. The new pavilion turned out to be a hit. Visitors ate there without having to leave the Bear Center. Lucky and Holly got in the holiday spirit, taking over the Cub Tree for fun and relaxation as a Lily Fan captured in this 14:53-minute video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpnvG3VxnXw

Tasha has learned she doesn’t have to run from Ted. She is even curious about him, acting much like Lucky did as a cub when he was about to befriend Ted in 2007. A Lily Fan captured Tasha’s close interaction in this 3-minute video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6YAHlu4rRU .

Out the window at the Wildlife Research Institute, a gull was less afraid of little yearling Lucy than it is of people. As the sun went down, a gull waited patiently for one more piece of bologna.

Tomorrow: Current wild bear foods.
