Evening GrosbeakThe appeal decision said no collars without a permit but Den Cams are okay. I was thrilled to see support for Den Cams and we wrote our Press Release (click here) mostly about that. The headlines we saw focused mostly on the collar issue, and we may need to appeal that narrow legal issue to the Minnesota Supreme Court. I very much want Den Cams for this winter. I feel worn out after a day talking to the media and will come back to the issues soon but also have to get the Ecology Hall open, which I worked on when the phone wasn’t ringing.
Snowshoe HareLorie and Sue did activities with the Bear Course participants. Great group.
We misidentified Big Harry based on a scar on his rear that is like Big Harry’s. I put faith in that distinctive scar but wondered about the differences in weight and demeanor. 
GoldfinchIt is not Big Harry in the pictures last night and a few days ago. We’re thinking Guy at this point.
Out the window, nice views were of a snowshoe hare in summer fur, a goldfinch, and an evening grosbeak.
