Progress - UPDATE July 10, 2015
A young flycatcher cooling offWith the temperature at 86°F, it was a good day to stay in and work on Ecology Hall exhibits. Seeing birds and squirrels outside the window trying to cool off by pressing their abdomens to the wood railing added incentive to stay in.
I doubt if the gulls were trying to get in where it was slightly cooler but two of them now sit outside my window looking at me when they want spam or hotdogs, and one pecks on the window looking at me.
There is still a ways to go in the Ecology Hall, but it is taking shape as Judy Thon’s video shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91l_9toTCFM The big beautiful shiny carved sign that says “Hope Learning Center” is nice to see.
Outside, there is a new look as Scott and Moe’s video shows. No longer can a person drive by the Bear Center and miss it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7TnPyAfqJs
Today, the Press Release announcing the new Northwoods Ecology Hall went out. Click here.
After Holly cooled off in the pond, she was ready to play with Lucky as Anita Smith’s video shows https://www.facebook.com/anita.s.smith.1/videos/10153002046583359.
Looking forward to the LilyPad Picnic that is getting close. Crossing my fingers about the appeal decision coming Monday. I very much want to place some den cams this winter to increase the sample size of that ground-breaking data set and resume broadcasting the secret den life of bears to schools and Lily Fans.
Thank you for all you do.
