Juliet, Holly, and Straw - UPDATE February 4, 2015

Ted with his strawTed with his strawIn the first of the two 6-minute highlight videos, Juliet is active with temperatures as high as 23°F. She eats snow at 11:34 AM and the cubs spend a lot of time doing good, contented nursing. In the second part, we see the cubs quite a bit as Juliet gets up to tend to them. When she curls back up to sleep, all three cubs were sleeping on Juliet's leg. One by one they returned to nurse yet again.

The snow around Holly’s den is beautiful and undisturbed. Holly hasn’t been out at all. Same for Lucky.

Undisturbed snow at Holly's denUndisturbed snow at Holly's denThe straw we put in Ted’s and Honey’s dens has not been used yet. Honey fluffed straw she already has but so far was not interested in the new bale. Same for Ted. But that’s how we learn. We now know that raking doesn’t necessarily mean they want more straw. Maybe they’ll decide to use the bales later.

Thank you for all you do.
