Ted, New Jersey - UPDATE December 15, 2014
Ted snug in his denLike Honey did yesterday, Ted stretched his legs briefly today as temperatures continued above freezing overnight and most of today. An alert Lily Fan caught it on video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eimv-qAkDNc. At 10:18 AM, he slowly edged out and walked to the fence, returning about 10:26 AM. We couldn’t see if his move was to urinate or just look around.
At 3:08 PM, big Ted looked small on his big comfy mound of straw. He said hi with his usual sweet high-pitched grunt.
A newspaper article in New Jersey pitted me against Dave Garshelis, as usual. See where you come down at

In a nice meeting today with Rob Schultz, Executive Director of the International Wolf Center, he shared my enthusiasm about the Northwoods Ecology Hall and Hope Learning Center and will try to direct Wolf Center visitors our way as we try to direct visitors to the Wolf Center. The general enthusiasm for partnering on many levels is uplifting, as it has been from the start. Our mutual goal is for people to learn more about bears and wolves. The strong help from Lily Fans in furthering that mission for bears is important, as has been demonstrated these past 5 years.
Thank you for all you do.
