Working Hard and a Change – UPDATE February 7, 2014

JulietJuliet's yawn reveals a cub With legal deadlines upon us, we spent most of the day preparing for the 8-day hearing, which starts February 24.   According to a tentative schedule, the DNR will present their case the first four days (February 24-27).  Our witnesses take the stand the next 3 days (February 28 and March 3 and 4).  Their testimony will open some eyes about bears, but Lily Fans will already have learned much of it from the bears themselves.  Lynn and Sue will testify on the final day (March 5)—followed by the attorneys’ closing arguments.  It all will happen in the Skjestad Room on the 2nd floor of the Office of Administrative Hearings, 600 North Robert Street, in St. Paul, Minnesota.  It is open to the public, and we hear there are 100-200 seats, although we haven’t verified that number yet.

JulietJuliet and cubSunday will be a down day, but will mark a new beginning.  We are moving onward and upward with the websites.  Both websites (bear.org and bearstudy.org) will be down as our Webmaster switches to a server with 24 processors rather than the present 8.  Better service.  He says this is “an incredible upgrade.”  Once the websites are moved, they will be accessible in the same way they are now.  Moving everything is complicated, and we thank you for your patience!

Thank you for all you do.
