Bear Center staff At the Bear Center today, the staff was filling your orders and mailing them out. Thank you for supporting the Bear Center with your Christmas giving!
Others there have been improving exhibits and finishing the new steps and doorway to the outside viewing balcony.

The staff and volunteers have been gathering information so we all can know how best to capture the prizes GiveMN is offering as incentives.
Snarling grizzly exhibitHere is what they learned:
1. GiveMN is letting us donate early and have our donations count toward the contests on Give to the Max Day 2013 (11/14/2013), but if you give early, be sure to check the box: [X] Make my donation count for Give to the Max Day 2013.
2. GiveMN is offering prizes to the organizations receiving the most dollars in each nonprofit category. We are in the category “Medium Nonprofits.” First prize is an extra $10,000. The next 4 prizes are $7,500, $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000. Sixth place through 10th place each get an extra $500.
3. GiveMN is offering Golden Tickets. For that, they do a drawing every hour for an extra $1,000 to the lucky nonprofit and do a final drawing at the end of the day for an extra $10,000.
4. GiveMN is offering something new—Power Hours. These are the hours when few people give—the hours starting at 2 AM, 5 AM, 6 PM, and 11 PM on November 14. In each of those hours in each category, the nonprofit that receives the most dollars gets an extra $1,000.
5. As usual, any donation to a nonprofit in good standing, like the Bear Center and the WRI, is tax deductible.
How can you participate? Anyone can donate using a credit card, debit card, or GiveMN/Razoo card by going to www.razoo.com/bears and/or www.razoo.com/wri.
