Aster's Antics – UPDATE August 15, 2013

Grasses go to seed - Aug 13, 2013 Grasses go to seed - Aug 13, 2013 Aster surprised us today by moving north into Braveheart’s territory.  To our knowledge, she has never been north of Hwy 169 before.  Currently, she is more than 8.25 miles from where Sue found her south of Bear Head Lake on Monday.

Jewel has been in the southern portion of Braveheart’s territory for several days now—not too surprising because her territory abuts Braveheart’s.  However, Aster passed through the territories of several mature females to reach her current location in the heart of Braveheart’s territory.  We’re thankful for the technology that allows us to follow and document these behaviors.

It was nice to see good coverage by KBJR-TV Channel 6 http://www.northlandsnewscenter.com/news/local/Jane-Goodall-Shows-Support-for-Bear-Researcher-Lynn-Rogers-219772631.html.

Hope Learning CenterHope Learning CenterToday, contractors gathered at the Bear Center to answer staff questions about the final stages of construction.  It’s hard to believe the estimated completion date for the new addition is only 4 weeks away.  The building is abuzz with activity and Lynn is being called on more and more to make construction decisions.  Exciting times!

Thank you for all you do.
