Fixing Den Cams – UPDATE January 10, 2013

Jewel's family - Jan 10, 2013Jewel's family - Jan 10, 2013Lily’s Den Cam remains erratic.  The Technology Team is speaking in esoteric terms that are beyond the normal biologist lingo but sound like they are getting serious.  Acronyms like LTE, EvDo, GW, DMM, VLC, UI—and terms like Raptor, ping, log files, interactive sessions, etc.  Lily chewing stick - Jan 10, 2013Lily chewing stick - Jan 10, 2013Hopefully, it will all make sense to someone and things will come together.  It takes a team.  They needed the snowmobile running to facilitate future trips to Lily's den, and newcomer Brandyn Rudolph gave us a hand.

Entryway foundation - Jan 10, 2013Entryway foundation - Jan 10, 2013Lily is pulling more sticks out of her brush pile den and chewing them up to make more bedding.  The calendar is ticking.

Some of today's Den Cam footage of Jewel, Herbie, and Fern is posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1LCbVm1Hjo.

The uncommonly warm temperatures (45F) were a blessing as workers laid cement blocks for the outside entrances to the Hope Learning Center.

Brandyn Rudolph - Jan 10, 2013Brandyn Rudolph - Jan 10, 2013The autographed Calendar Bundles are flying out the door as donations and memberships continue to stream in at http://www.bear.org/website/gift-shop.html  Thank you! Very much appreciated.  Thank you also for your enthusiastic messages about the quality of the calendars.  We know we were blown away when we first saw them ourselves.  Photographer Jim Stroner will have a hard time topping the photography next year.  We’re planning the same winning style for next year with new chapters in the bears’ lives.  To us, the calendars are collectors’ items that together summarize the lives of these bears.

Thank you for all you do.
