Jewel and Fern - Jan 9, 2013Today we began downloading the archives of this year’s Den Cam footage. WildEarth archives footage from the cams and provides online access to it within the same video player as the live Den Cam video. This gives everyone the ability to go back and replay a clip.
Herbie - Jan 9, 2013We download the footage ourselves to have a permanent record of all den activities. This gives us the ability to review the footage in the future if research questions arise that are not covered by the current denwatch data. It also makes creating videos from the Den Cam footage much easier.
Fern's inspection - Jan 9, 2013After recently saying the bears haven’t bothered the Den Cams this year, Fern inspected the camera in Jewel’s den today. Fortunately she just sniffed and didn’t lick. Video of this ‘inspection’ is posted at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpDyiwz8wZc.
Lily at work - Jan 9, 2013Lily worked more on her bed today. Much of the work was close to and under the camera so we saw a lot of fur and not much else as she worked. Once she had raked the chips closer to her bed, she backed into her bed to finish raking them in.
