The Walls Are Up – UPDATE December 21, 2012

Trygg Road - Dec 21, 2012Trygg Road - Dec 21, 2012Sunshine brightened the forest as we celebrated the last section of wall being added to the new addition.

The inside view shows part of the Hope Learning Center as it looks today.

Wall section lowered in place - Dec 21, 2012Wall section lowered in place - Dec 21, 2012The Den Cam Technology Team arrived at the Research Center this evening.  Tomorrow morning, they will do some final testing and make additional adjustments to the den cam tubes that will hold the new, larger cameras.  The new IP cameras are much higher quality than the cameras available in the past.  Den camera prep - Dec 21, 2012Den camera prep - Dec 21, 2012We should see much more detailed activity than before.  We think the possibilities make it worth the gamble of using unfamiliar equipment.

Will everything work as well as we hope?  The two biggest questions are the sound and the possibility of bears licking the lenses of the new bigger cameras in bigger tubes with easier access for long bear tongues.  Inquiring bears may need to know.

Tomorrow will be a cold but busy day.  Hopefully both Lily and Jewel will be online by evening.

Thank you for all you do.
