Bears in the Classroom – UPDATE November 28, 2012
Blackheart with yearlings Valiant, Shylow, and Braveheart – May 2003 We know from the survey that over 500 schools follow the research bears, but it’s always great to hear from one of the teachers who uses bear.org as a resource for classroom activities. Yesterday, we received a call from a high school biology teacher here in Minnesota who had trouble getting all his students on the website at once. Our website team ran some tests, found the problem, and fixed it—for all classrooms.
Today, the teacher emailed to thank us for working with him to get his students “such valuable access.” He wrote, “I appreciate the friendly responses from all the staff that I talked to at the NABC.” He went on to say, “As an outdoor wildlife teacher, I am constantly trying to find ways to engage students in activities and processes that are happening in their very own state. I have several students who have been to the NABC and I am always pleased to see so many "city" kids really take an interest in what is happening in the outdoors.”
Feedback like this encourages us to keep working to educate.
Thank you for all you do.
