Where is Braveheart?
No signal from Braveheart today. We flew to find her but were limited by low clouds. We’ll try again tomorrow.
The survey total is now 5,895 with 5 days to go. We’re looking forward to seeing the tallies and reading your comments. The link to the survey is https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7S5B2GZ .
In the race to help Soudan Underground Mine State Park, we’ve passed three quarters of a million votes and are far ahead of 3rd place. However, we need to keep up the pace in order to maintain the lead. To vote, go to http://www.livepositively.com/#/americasparks/leaderboard and vote over and over. This contest closes September 6th. Your support for Soudan Underground Mine State Park is much appreciated by us, the DNR Commissioner, the local residents, and the research bears!
One of the joys of the Lilypad Picnic and discussions afterward was hearing enthusiastic teachers talking about what a difference the bears are making in their teaching. We heard stories of how much the students care. Students in one class held a fundraiser and presented a check for $203 to the Wildlife Research Institute.
Expanding the Education Outreach effort is a major goal.
Thank you for all you do.
