18-year-old Donna bear was my highlight of today. She looks good, acts good, and was a delight to see. 
DonnaBeing with her, I couldn’t help remembering our beginning back in 2000 when she was part of Blackheart’s first litter. Her story is part of the Animal Planet documentary “The Man Who Walks With Bears” filmed by Doug Hajicek in 1999 and 2000. Other bears may have been the highlights for other Black Bear Field Study Course participants today, but Donna holds a lot of memories for me.
A call this evening turned out to be the first sighting of 19-year-old RC this year. She has 3 good, healthy-looking cubs.
Out on the water this morning, mallard ducklings are getting hard to tell from adults. The smooth water gave an opportunity for pictures of water lilies.
