Pileated Woodpecker, T-Shirt - UPDATE December 6, 2017
Out the window, a pileated woodpecker (a female) finally discovered the new suet spot. It’s the first one I’ve seen here in a long time. I hope she keeps coming and brings the male and maybe re-uses the nearby nest hole for a fourth time.
At the Bear Center, a red squirrel showed it’s wire-walking (running) skills to get to the bird feeder on a cable to the Pat Tree. Scott Edgett also installed a new feeder on the Honey Tree (named after Honey the Bear). In the spring, the plan is to attach the cable 5-8 feet higher on the trunk for Lucky to go to for treats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4pLZD6FSco
We now have a picture of the new 4-bears T-shirt. You can find this shirt here: https://www.bear.org/website/gift-shop-pages/product/12863-4-bears-minnesota-tshirt.html
Thank you for all you do.
