Ted, Flying Squirrel - UPDATE November 21, 2017

A Lily Fan caught a 4-minute video of Ted diligently raking today. I hear he is due for some more straw. I don’t know if he got it yet, though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPPMlsNbe28Flying squirrelFlying squirrel

Out the window, the night shift has northern flying squirrels instead of red squirrels. Flying squirrels are hard to photograph through the window in the dark, but this one was under a deck light. It shows its lighter face, flatter tail, and the folds of furry skin along its side for gliding. Flying squirrels are more carnivorous than red squirrels, so it also ate suet and ham in addition to date mash and the sunflower seeds it is eating in the picture.

Thank you for all you do.
