Is Lucky getting picky about his food as some bears do as they approach hibernation?Gray FoxGray Fox It seems early, but he is attaing a good weight, and we know that fat males are the first males to call it a year. In this video the grapes offered on the pulley platter were not what Lucky was after, as he left some in the tray. See for yourself at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdezS4gRLck

In the woods, Lily and her two cubs stopped coming to a favorite feeding site a few days ago. We believe they went to a den. Today, they were back at the feeding site. That reminds us of how Blackheart began using a den but kept returning a mile away to a feeding site each day for a week or so until she finally settled in for the winter. We’ll see what Lily and cubs do next. When she disappears for good, we’ll check her den—the den she has repeatedly visited this fall.

Out the window, we’re blessed with wind, rain, color, wildlife, and the occasional wolf and bear.

Thank you for all you do.
