Intriguing Wildlife and Distracting Health - UPDATE May 14, 2026

Wolf

As I think of how engaging the wildlife are that bring excitement to each day, I think about the wolf that was a tiny dot in a distant picture but still had enough detail in the dot to zoom in on it and get an ID picture that shows its fur pattern if we ever see it again.

ScarfaceScarface
And then there is Scarface the bear, who might have a different name, when and if we find enough pictures to surely identify him,

CrowCrow
A crow whose eye gives me a feeling of its intelligence,

Fisher w drumsticksFisher w/drumsticks
A fisher that found a bonanza of two chicken drumsticks at one time,

White-throated sparrowWhite-throated sparrow
A white-throated sparrow that let me snap a quick picture when it was showing its beautiful yellow head patches so well,

Dark-eyed juncoDark-eyed junco
And a dark-eyed junco that is now traveling to its breeding ground.

On the downside, I will miss the views outside my desk window to spend a week or so in the hospital as doctors take steps to get rid of bad tissue in my foot. I look forward to walking better.

Thank you for all you do. I’m looking forward to the bear courses that are less than two months away.
