Babies are growing - UPDATE July 6, 2022
It was a fun day all day feeling the excitement of course participants as we met bears and saw growing babies. The two pictures of the day were taken by course participant Sue Breeden. One is of a bald eagle bringing a big bluegill to its growing baby—a baby we’ll be watching over the next weeks as it gets ready to fly. The other is Sue’s picture of growing yearling Lincoln (Son of Chloe, great grandson of 35-year-old Shadow) looking neat and sleek in his new coat.

The eaglet recipient of the bluegill is in the huge old nest we check each year on the pontoon ride. This year it is being used, giving us the excitement of seeing the parents flying in with dinner.
Red squirrel babyA surprise was a course participant finding a red squirrel nest with two nearly full-grown babies still being tended by their lactating mother. One of them is peeking out of the hole waiting for mom.
Woodchuck babyAnother growing baby is this baby woodchuck immersed in a smorgasbord of green.
An indoors highlight today was a great talk by a Native American about her and her clan’s view of bears and what bears can teach us.
Participants are saying they don’t want to go home!!!
Thank you for all you do,
