Another Good Day - UPDATE September 15, 2021

Bear in white pineBear in white pine

The day began with a bear waking up with the rising sun hitting the uncomfortable-looking branch where he probably spent the night in the dead top of an old white pine.

It’s the 15th, and we are past the 2-week beginning of the bear hunting season when 83% of the kills happen. This is the time in the northland when attention shifts to grouse-hunting and other hunts. The number of bears we see has waned as some have moved off to dens.

Thank you for all you do and all you did to keep the bears out of trouble in this year of very scarce wild food.
