ShadowHighlights in the midst of the increasing number of bears as mating wanes and the berry shortage hits were Shadow and a mother I think I know but want to check pictures before committing. Shadow was in good evening light that highlighted her white face. Mother and cubThen a mother with a cub showed her face and 34-year-old Shadow drifted off—no longer the dominant bear of her past.
The mother had two cubs, one was too high up in against a bright sky that made it hard to see well. The other cub, a female, was mother’s girl. I love the picture of the two together, calm as can be.
