We Don’t Know of Anything Bad Yet - UPDATE September 1, 2020
Zelda with dirt on her headOn this first day of bear hunting season, Zelda showed up with dirt on her head. Had she been digging a den? Very possible. We haven’t seen Shadow for a couple weeks or so. She had been known to den in the last week of August. Zelda is pretty chubby, so she very well may be ready to call it a year. We’ll see how long she keeps coming.
Bear with Pine Siskin - K. BurnsThe bear with a pine siskin is a picture that Kristy Burns took on July 28, 2019, when she was here for a bear course. How does a bear react when a bird lands on it? Kristy caught one example. I have seen a bear run when a butterfly landed on its back. So anything could happen, I guess.
We’re crossing our fingers for the bears in this tense time.
Thank you for all you do, and thank you for the donations you have made for bear food to help keep them safe.
