White Again - UPDATE April 3, 2020

The day began with Ted sitting on bare ground and the woodchuck eating its broccoli without a thought of snow. A flock of migrating dark-eyed juncos landed—the first I’d seen of them this year. Then the snow started. Outside the window by my desk, Stripe was patiently waiting covered with white. I think some snow fell off the roof on her. She disappeared for a couple minutes and came back looking almost like her usual self. A red squirrel was doing its best to find sunflower seeds buried under the snow during the worst of the snowfall. When the snow ended, goldfinches stopped by to show me how they were progressing in their switch from brown winter feathers to summer yellow with a black crown.
