As bear hunting action wanes and bears become more nocturnal and less active with the approach of hibernation, an even bigger animal visited. The picture is not great, taken with a cell phone through a vehicle window, 
but it proves that a moose was in the driveway yesterday. I haven’t seen one around here for over a year. Moose numbers are down. Out the window, red squirrels are now brown after shedding their reddish summer fur.
