Big flakes fell overnight, making for soft landings. The siskin sunk in snow looks like it wasn’t expecting the snow to be so sinky. The chickadee diving in has nothing to worry about with the soft snow. A common redpoll stood out in the group with its red crown and black chin, maybe the first one here this winter. A siskin got caught on camera looking less than pleasant with its wings raised and beak open. All the action was in one small spot out the window about 6 feet from where I sit with the camera aimed that way so it’s easy to turn and click if something is happening.
