Ted, Tasha, Lucky, Holly, Quill, and more - UPDATE April 23, 2018

Ted and Tasha are looking good in their maximum coat as captured by Sharon. Word is that Lucky and Holly might be released into the big enclosure with Tasha tomorrow. I hope they all get along.QuillQuill

The big news on the wild scene is that Quill showed up on the edge of the community about 9 PM on April 20 and generated calls among neighbors. Last night, Quill made Peggy’s day a little before midnight. Actually, it is the nightlife that makes her day. Two nights ago she finally got the picture she wanted of a flying squirrel showing the flap of skin that lets them glide. She didn’t want to go home until a bear appeared, and it was her favorite Quill with his upturned nose—lit by a light on the deck. She left today.

With the beautiful weather, some things are disappearing and others are appearing. Snow is disappearing, laying bare the fallen leaves that woodchucks are gathering for their burrows. The flock of chickadees left a couple days ago. Herring gulls are flocking in. Only a couple chickadees remain, likely the summer residents.

A pine marten appeared after an absence but too briefly to get a decent picture or see identifying marks.

Thank you for all you do.
