Ted - UPDATE October 22, 2017

A Lily Fan captured this 4:26 minute video of Ted’s outing today.TedTed The staff recently drilled additional holes in the Pat Tree for bears that would rather sit than climb, and Ted took notice of the food in them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdZedGcSVzw.

Flying SquirrelFlying SquirrelThis 4-day-old 1:49 video of the flying squirrels visiting Ted homes in nicely on what the squirrels are doing in Ted’s shelter. There was a pile of scat that has since been cleaned up. It’s a revelation to me that flying squirrels were visiting it. By day, chipmunks and red squirrels tear apart bear scat to find undigested foods that passed through; but flying squirrels, which are nocturnal, escaped notice. It took our Ted Cam and a skilled navigator to reveal that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiptZP24Ks8.

Ted in denTed in denOut in the woods in the study area, a few bears are still coming to feeders. Annie and her 3 cubs a couple days ago at one place, a juvenile bear of unknown sex a couple nights ago at another, and what is believed to be Fern’s daughter Clover still coming nightly at a third feeder. How long can it continue? Quill beat them all with visits continuing to November 18 last year. Kimani and her cubs (not a clan bear) were the last with an October 14, 2016 visit.

Thank you for all you do.
