Bear News – June 12 2017
This past weekend we celebrated the ambassador bears half birthday. Each bear received the piñata fans voted for. Holly received the teapot, which she and Lucky shared. Lucky received the soccer ball, which Holly tore open and began eating the fruit. Lucky and HollyLucky and HollyLucky quickly moved in on that offering too. Tasha received the huge flip-flop and was afraid at first and then began destroying it. She found the fruit and sat down to enjoy it. Ted received the strawberry. It was filled with fresh fruit, a special trail mix of pecans, yogurt almonds and cranberries. They all loved ripping the piñatas open and enjoying the treats.

Last week Lucky enjoyed the cedar chips. He looks like a model as he stretches himself out on the nice cool cedar. Later he posed with a nice nose shot, just to let everyone know his nose is clean.

For some of you it was a late night and we do thank-you for tuning in. To us it was very worth the effort of waiting to reward the bears with their special treat at the end of the day.Tasha with her flip-flop piñataTasha & flip-flop piñata

Again, thank you for watching and for supporting the NABC.

In the woods, the film team has been waiting all day for a glimpse of Lily and is hopeful to see her this evening. They are showing the persistence that gets the amazing results some of these nature film teams come up with.

At the Bear Center, the Loon Exhibit is coming together with a couple artifacts to go yet. A lot of people worked together to make this exhibit that includes the taxidermy loon, the realistic habitat and nest, the beautiful wood setting, the donated loon egg, Lucky posing on cedar chipsLucky posing on cedar chipsthe TV with pictures and captions, the information, and assembling it all in a pleasing form. I say thank you to all. I am thankful we have the talent available to put together a professional exhibit like this. The Bear Center is getting better and better.
