Ted made no move to capture an eastern chipmunk that showed skill and sensitivity in getting its share of Ted’s peanuts. The chipmunk was cautious but quick to take advantage of an opportunity to dart in and grab a peanut. The chipmunk was in no hurry to escape, seeming to know that Ted would not try to get his peanut back or punish the chipmunk for taking it. Possession is nine tenths of the law in bear-chipmunk dealings. I didn’t see much from Ted to prevent the chipmunk from taking a few peanuts. I love watching these interactions and seeing what the animals do and don’t do.
