Stragglers - UPDATE November 27, 2016

Quill wasn’t the last bear up, assuming he is snuggled somewhere for the winter now. A Minnesota Lily Fan photographed fresh bear tracks in north central Minnesota yesterday.CrowCrow

The lone crow that has not migrated south yet is still coming. He makes several stops a day at the suet outside the window, ignoring me as I grab the long lens and aim it at him. The whole WRI cabin is reflected in his eye.

I hope the new Den Cam for Lucky and Holly arrives soon to replace their cam that quit. Mike and Lorie are arriving tomorrow to check a den or two or three for occupants—hopefully Lily. But the den we thought she might use had a different bear show up on the trail cam by it. And she wasn’t at the rock den she’s used a bit. She doesn’t use that den when she’s going to have cubs. We usually wait until deer-hunting is over to check dens. We do know where Jewel is with her soon-to-be yearlings.

Thank you for all you do.
