A Wonderful Weekend - UPDATE July 24, 2016
This was a wonderful weekend with Donna and Lily Fans at the LilyPad Picnic. This little video was a moment of fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snyeE4j_4Yo.
CrackleSo many people made such an effort to make the weekend what it was. Donna was ecstatic. For me, the feeling of being among friends was uplifting to say the least.
Then it was on to the 2nd Black Bear Field Course. I got my first look at Guy of 2016. He was his same old self. His manner stole the heart of a participant from Barbados who remarked that “he is so self-contained, confident, calm, trusting, and dignified.” A participant from Winnipeg said, “He has nothing to prove. He is capable of such great strength, but he is so gentle, delicately shelling peanuts. Life is good. He is the very spirit of contentment.”
Beautiful Crackle gave an opportunity to snap his picture in good sun. His look of concern is because I made an odd noise. Jack was wonderful, as usual, even though he told Crackle not to hang out so close to him at one point. Participants learned some naughty bear words in the process.
A good day of bears, conversation, and food. In fact, the food was so good, or the people were so hungry, that only once did everyone get up to see new bear arrivals.
The Lilypad Picnic was another example of Lily Fans being what they are and doing what they do, which is why I confidently write each day, “Thank you for all you do.”
