Ted and Lucky Go Crazy! - UPDATE May 27, 2016

Ted loves cedar chips. He always has. But this new pile brought out more vigorous action than any of us can remember. For over 4 minutes, Ted squirmed vigorously in them, Holly and Lucky up the treeHolly and Lucky up the treefirst on one side and then the other, especially rubbing his head through them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLTA8ISQMnQ

Not to be outdone, Lucky put on an energetic show with a piece of burlap—first in the water and then on land. I’ve never seen anything like it. Lily Fans say they’re watching it over and over. And who would have thought a piece of burlap would be that great? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uurh7GsHEeM&feature=youtu.be. And another angle of this action can be seen at https://www.facebook.com/ andie.harveaux/videos/o.139730642706794/1368125 713213909/?type=2&theater. What other things can we give the bears to stimulate innovative play?

What an action-packed way to start the Enrichment Programs that will run at 11, 1, and 4 CT each day! They are on the PTZ Cam under the Live Camera tab on bear.org at http://www.bear.org/website/live-cameras/live-cameras/ptz-pond-cam-live.html.

Early this morning (about 1 AM), I got back from a whirlwind trip to the location where a new program on bears is being filmed. I couldn’t really afford the time away from writing, but a day and a half seemed a good balance because the program’s topic could help save orphaned cubs that are currently euthanized.

Thank you for all you do.
