Red squirrelA Fundraiser Auction has started for the Bear Center Makeover that runs through 4 PM on Sunday, March 20th. The fundraiser team has many baskets and items they are auctioning on the NABC Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/NorthAmericanBearCenter. They have baskets for BBQ, Coffee & Tea, and Camping.
Duluth bearA Lily Fan spotted a bear near Duluth today. It’s the first bear sighting we’ve heard of.
Out the window, the suet was popular today with visits by chickadees, red-breasted nuthatches, downy woodpeckers, and more. The downy in the picture is a female (no red on the head) and not a hairy woodpecker. Downies are half the size of hairies and have a disproportionately smaller bill.
