Sophie and Sybil - August 13, 2012Three more candidate pictures for the upper walls of the upgraded North American Bear Center are these pictures of Jason, Fern, Sophie, and Sybil.
Fern - August 7, 2012Jason was the sibling of Faith in Lily’s second litter (2011). Jason is gone but not forgotten. We are not certain what killed him, but the best evidence suggests a coyote. I saw his last breaths. We hated to lose this sweet and important cub we wanted to know for much longer. His head looks too big for his body because the camera was too close. He will have a place in the area reserved for Lily and her family.
Jason - April 8, 2011Fern, shown here as a cub, should have cubs with her when we next see her this spring or summer. Her mother Jewel is also due to have cubs this year. She is one of the bears we want to follow via a Den Cam this winter.
Sophie and Sybil, shown here as cubs, are also due to have cubs this year. Sybil rarely comes by for us to see her but we hope to spend time with Sophie and her family this summer as opportunities occur.
