HareWe heard only one shot today (at 7:36 PM), but it was not far away. Volunteers are out hoping to get more information. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it was not one of the bears we worry about.
Thank you again for the donations you are making for bear food at this stressful time. It saves bears lives.
Blue Jay eating peanutsThe mushroom already had bites out of it from small mammals when I photographed it yesterday. Overnight, bear cubs broke it into small pieces and most of it disappeared. Bears don’t usually eat mushrooms, so we can’t explain what they were doing.
Visitors to the community feeding sites include more than bears. Raw peanuts in the shell get the attention of blue jays.
Thank you for all you do.
