Great Group, Fun Day - UPDATE July 6, 2015
Sean leading the groupThe weather didn’t start out the best so we squeezed in Sue’s new video presentation on walking with bears and one of my talks.
Raspberry - photo by KathyThen it was bears, birds, telemetry, and exploring. The pictures are from the participants. Brenda got a picture of a mystery bear we are trying to identify. Another participant found a dead chestnut-sided warbler with a wiggling caterpillar tightly clenched in its beak. Then Sean learned telemetry and led the group to the deep rock den where Mike had earlier stashed a radio-collar to home in on. Several explored inside the den, and Steve photographed crevices where the bats we see most likely live. The raspberry Kathy photographed is an example of the bear food that is ripening. Fun.

We’re doing the update early to be ready for bears that should arrive shortly if the wind doesn’t deter them.
