More Eye-Opening - UPDATE March 7, 2015
Juliet's cub - March 7, 2014In this 7½-minute highlight of Juliet and her 3 cubs from March 7, 2014, it is warm enough to snow, and that’s how the day started—about 12° above zero F with about 0.8 inch of snow falling a little after midnight. The day warms up to 34° above zero. In the early hours there were noises outside the den which alerted Juliet. On this beginning of a warm spell (34°F), we get several views of cubs, but they were too brief to be sure who they are. One cub had big eyeshine and is likely the one whose eyes were fully, or nearly fully open a couple days ago. Another cub had tiny eyeshine and may be the one whose eyes were not open at all a couple days ago.
See what you think.

Platform for the aquarium and terrariumHolly was entertaining in this video from yesterday when some of her bedding she was raking fell into the Den Cam tube. Holly tried to be a responsible bear who wouldn’t leave a mess for others. She tried over and over to reach the bedding with her tongue and paw.

At the Bear Center yesterday, Scott and his friend Don who made the platform for the aquarium and terrariums put the beginnings of the platform in place. Don is a professional home builder who donated his time to make the platform. Progress, and it looks like it will be beautiful.
Thank you for all you do.
