Holly, Juliet, Cubs - UPDATE February 24, 2015

Juliet's cub - January 24, 2014Juliet's cub - January 24, 2014Holly felt a need to touch and see her Den Cam today as a Lily Fan captured in this video (1 minute 23 seconds). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bYj22G4xf4&feature=em-subs_digest

In Juliet’s den, an inch of blowing snow has added to the pile in Juliet’s den. The telltale mark from her 84 seconds of licking snow a little after 10 PM on February 22 is still visible. Juliet likely hasn’t licked snow since. At about 4 PM a year ago today, Juliet rose up. At 4:01:28, she began licking snow at her usual pace of 2 licks per second and went on and on, finally ending at 4:07:03 after 335 seconds of ingesting snow. Then she gave attention to the overhead log she often checks out before settling down. She did not pause to urinate as she often does after rousing and eating snow. With all that snow taken in, it’s no wonder she urinates from time to time, contrary to the lack of urination during the denning period that we once believed based on indoor studies.
