Squawking Cubs - UPDATE January 31, 2015
Juliet's cub - January 31, 2014With temperatures rising to only 5°F from a low of 28° below F, there weren’t any views of cubs until nearly 4 PM when we were at the high for the day and the sun was about to set. Cubs crawled up the side of Juliet’s chest, squawking and seemingly lost. At the end of this 7½-minute highlight video, at 9:09 PM (21:09), Juliet rose up, gave a view of the cubs underneath her, and seemed to put things in order. All became quiet.

Maureen O'Brien and Judy ThonAt the Bear Center today, Moe and Judy interviewed talented mural artist Maureen O’Brien who is within 2 days of finishing the background mural for the habitat exhibit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcDHu9wtAcQ We asked her back for this mural after seeing the terrific job she did for the big mural on the front of the cub room. For the mural she will finish this weekend, she transitioned left to right from a young forest in spring to a mature forest in winter. It all fits perfectly with the habitat Peter and Ryan are creating. We’re talking about her being present and perhaps doing a painting to auction during the Grand Opening June 6.
Thank you for all you do.
