Looking and Learning – UPDATE July 29, 2014
Great Blue Heron flyingSharp-eyed Lily Fans participating in the Black Bear Field Course had a great time spotting wildlife and meeting bears today. The neighborhood wolf put in appearances during two periods when no bears were present.
Great Blue HeronWe made the usual boat trip to the den where Hope was born. Along the way, we quietly drifted along the shore spotting wildlife, including the Osprey and Great Blue Herons pictured. Cameras clicked. Cell phones quietly recorded images.
Osprey flyingThe group is melding as people share experiences. The courses somehow attract our kind of people over and over. Their responses to a reporter showed they have the same appreciation of nature that we do. A participant who has been just about everywhere gave him the quote, “This is the greatest experience of my life.” When a returnee was asked if she would come back again, she said, “I will come back every year I can.”
Wolf in yardAs the sun went down, we got a call that Shadow had showed up at a feeding station after weeks of absence. We were eating. The food could wait. We scrambled into the van and rushed to see her. A great time.
Thank you, and thank you all for all you do.
