Holly and Juliet – UPDATE January 10, 2014

HollyHolly  About 11:30 AM, Holly was stirring.  Convenient—Channel 6 was at the Bear Center to announce her arrival.  We went up to see her.  Holly came to the entrance of her den and Lynn thought of crawling in with her, but Holly seemed too nervous and Lynn wanted to progress only at Holly’s pace.  Lynn offered her 2 grapes.  She sniffed them but was more interested in sniffing Lynn’s hand.  Lynn dropped the grape.  She sniffed it again but had no real interest.  Hunger is not a problem for her.  Holly’s arrival was announced on tonight's Channel 6 news (http://www.northlandsnewscenter.com/news/iron-range/New-wild-bear-cub-at-Bear-Center-in-Ely--239690051.html).

Juliet alertJuliet Out in the field, Mike and Ted worked on the sound at Juliet’s den.  The microphone was the problem.  Juliet looked up at the familiar sound of Mike’s voice but then went back to resting.  All was fine—even the temperature (22F ABOVE).

Thank you for all you do.
