The Transfer is On – UPDATE December 23, 2013
Holly berries Today, the Minnesota DNR gave permission to bring the little female bear to her new home at the Bear Center. Volunteers immediately hit the road to retrieve her. We hope to have her here and settled in by the end of the week. Lily Fans are sending good names but also are rallying around the name Holly, given the season. One suggested the full name be Holly Berry in keeping with our history of naming bears after forest plants. Another put a twist on that, suggesting Holly Beary. Another Lily Fan liked Holly Beary because people could remember it because it sounds like Halle Berry, which helps us remember HER name because it sounds like Holly Beary. Such decisions.
The trip has begunWe wish safe travel for the Lily Fan volunteers on the road. And thank you to Lily Fans who are helping toward costs of transport and a new pen and chalet den like Ted’s for the new little female.
Thank you for all you do.
