Ursula, Lily – UPDATE November 6, 2013
Ursula rakes bedding into den - Nov 2 Ursula’s GPS locations show that she wandered in the vicinity of her den after Jim removed her adornments but returned to her den and remained there. Jim left her GPS on so we could determine if she stayed.
Ursula's cub - August 2013What a plush den she has. We’re trying to determine from Jim’s picture of her cubs which cub was lost during the hunting season (as one of RC’s was last year). A spot on Jim’s lens makes identification difficult. We’re looking for the face of this distinctive cub (right), which we haven’t seen in a photo yet.
The trail cam at Lily’s den is worthwhile. It had many pictures of Lily and family in action. Below, one of Lily's cubs picks up a piece of birch and backs into then den with it on Nov 3.

The anticipation of November 14 Give to the Max Day is building up. It’s the major fundraiser of the year. With the possibility of the Hope Learning Center and Northwoods Ecology Hall being completed, we see the excitement among Lily Fans on Facebook and Pondchat. Our visitor, Max the Bear, is blogging at MaxTheBear.Com from the Bear Center. Max has promised not to hibernate until after his big day on November 14. His blog is fun and informative with lots of pictures of Ted, Lucky, and Honey. You can even subscribe to Max the Bear's blog via RSS (if you have that enabled) by clicking the speaker to the right of the logo!
Thank you for all you are doing.
